This is a collection of props I have fabricated to scale for my own stop motion animation projects, including a bed, bedside table and clock used alongside my puppet Simon, as well as a backpack, pencil case and book made for my puppet Saoirse.
The bed frame is made of mahogany panels and dowels with a fitted mattress constructed with a dip in the middle for the puppet to lie snugly on top of. The duvet and pillows are made from re-purposed shirts, calico, wadding and toy stuffing with soft aluminium wire in the lining in the duvet for ease of posing when animating. The bedside table is made from wooden panel painted with brushing wax to resemble mahogany with aluminium wire handles. Lastly the digital clock is made from milliput and painted with Citadel acrylic paints.
The backpack is made from a re-purposed tote bag, paperclips and ribbon. The book I made using the perfect bound book binding technique with coloured card and plain paper. The pencil case is made from calico painted with fabric stiffener, with the addition of a zipper made from a re-purposed tin can. Inside the pencil case are pencils, a sharpener and a rubber made out of milliput. All props were finished with Citadel acrylic paints.
